Who will be PM tomorrow?

Don’t assume Kevin Rudd will be Prime Minister of Australia tomorrow.

If the Governor General does her job correctly, she will ask him if he will have the confidence of the House of Representatives. That can only be done by a vote tomorrow.

If that doesn’t happen, the Governor General must commission the Leader of the Opposition, Tony Abbott, as Prime Minister.

Over to you Ms Bryce!

Clive, do what you do best

Clive Palmer is a capable businessman who should stick to doing what he knows best: Creating prosperous businesses that employ lots of people.

He should give up on politics. The Palmer United Party has no cohesive policies, no clear message and has lost control of its agenda.

If Clive wants a place in history, people will remember him more for the thousands of jobs he creates rather than the ineffective politician he has the potential of becoming.

Happy Birthday Graeme

My good friend Graeme Skarratt has a birthday today. Everyone who knows him knows what a warm, generous and kind-hearted man he is.

Graeme has spent his whole life giving to others through his career in business and charitable work. He helped start the Abstract Committee 48 years ago, and it is now the longest surviving committee that raises money for the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children.

Whenever Graeme greets you he has a beaming smile and you can tell he is glad to see you. Which makes him a delight to be with.

Happy birthday Graeme. And many more returns.

The Labor Party finally realises Gillard was a mistake

The wise men and women who deposed Kevin Rudd now realise that putting Julia Gillard in as PM was a mistake.

Keep her! Please! We want to vote her out big time.
