I am attending a conference on genealogy and it’s interesting that the age of most attendees is 50+. That’s not a criticism, just an observation that the older we get the more interested we become in our family history.

Imagine if history became fiction
What would happen if a dishonest and manipulative person was able to convince people that history never happened, that it was only fiction? Where people blindly believe that bad things never happened.
Well folks, history tells us that it’s happened before. And it’s happening now.
The reason for this is that ignorant or apathetic people believe what they’re hearing. They believe until it’s too late.
Too late to undo the harm they are in. Too late to complain about their situation. Too late to blame others except themselves.
For your sake, learn from history and reject the fiction sprouted by false prophets. The decisions you make could have consequences that you may not like.
Happy Birthday Ringo
A belated happy birthday to Ringo Starr, who turned 73 on 7th July.
I saw him and his All Starr Band in concert recently. He sang our favourite Ringo songs, which we loved. But he showed what a giant he is by taking a back seat during most of the concert and giving the stage to his All Starr Band members.
There’s no ego with Ringo. Just a humble and talented man who wants to live a life of peace and love by giving joy to others.
Winter is here

Unions control Australia

Press reports say the union movement will decide if Prime Minister Julia Gillard is to keep her job.
The union movement represents 18% of the workforce but has an overwhelming influence on the government.
The September election will hopefully correct this.
